The month of Ramadan marks a time of spiritual reflection and worship. Participating Muslims refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours, but when the sun sets, the fast turns into a feast, the Iftar. During Iftar, people gather to break their fast together, traditionally starting with a date (the dried fruit). In addition to the date, a range of wonderful dishes are served.
